Stefan Schwarzenberger was born in Innsbruck / Tirol. He graduated from the Konservatorium Innsbruck in 1996 under Norbert Rabanser and Mag. Gunnar Fras. In 2001 he studied at Drummers Collective New York. As a student he played in diverse youth orchestras like Junge Philharmonie Österreich, Wiener Jeunesse Orchester, European Philharmonic Orchestra. He is teaching at Musikschule Telfs, composing for young percussion ensembles and gives workshops all over Austria. In December 2007 he was honoured with the Arthur Haidl Price of Innsbruck.
